Mark and Amy have been with the Sew Vac City since its beginning in 1986. Mark is the manager and has an abundance of knowledge when it comes to sewing machines and vacuums. He enjoys hunting, reading, and watching college football and basketball (especially the Aggies!). Amy is the office manager and keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes. She loves books, sunshine, the beach, and travelling. Greece and Hawaii are her favorite destinations so far. Mark and Amy have two children. Their son, Jonathan, who began his career in the sewing machine industry at Sew Vac City, is now a DSR for the Janome Sewing Machine Company. Kaitlin, their daughter, is attending Texas A&M University and is majoring in Special Education. Mark and Amy appreciate the time they get to spend with their kids even more now that they are grown.
Dale is the founder of Sew Vac City and still makes an occasional appearance, offering advice and wisdom that comes from years in the industry. He began his career at the age of nineteen, working for the Singer Sewing Machine Company. Dale was inducted into the Sewing Industry Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2014 he completely passed the reigns of Sew Vac City over to Amy and Mark, his daughter and son-in-law.
Curtis is our vacuum technician, or as we refer to him, the one who knows EVERYTHING about vacuums. He has been with Sew Vac City for seventeen years and has earned his reputation! Curtis was born in Nebraska and, after several moves, landed in Texas in 1980. He is married and has two boys. Curtis likes anything mechanical, especially if it is automotive related. He loves the 50’s….the clothes, neon, simple lifestyle, and, of course, the cars! Curtis is an avid collector of old toys.
Bill is our sewing machine repair technician and has been with Sew Vac City since 1993. With twenty-two years’ experience, if a machine is repairable, Bill can do it. He regularly attends technical training to stay up to date on the maintenance of all machines, from simple mechanical machines to computerized embroidery machines. In his free time, he enjoys hunting. Bill is married and has two children. His son, Wes, is in the Navy. All of us at Sew Vac City are thankful for his service to our country.
