Project Linus

Youth Sewing Program

Sew Vac City's Youth Sewing Program is designed to teach children 8 to 18 years of age the joy of sewing. During the year we learn different skills while making fun projects. Some of the projects we have done in the past year were leggings, shirts, pillows with ruffles and quilts. During the year we also give the young sewers the chance to work with Project Linus to donate quilts and blankets to children who are hospitalized. The young sewers learn a skill that will benefit them for the rest of their lives while having fun and expanding their creativity.

19075: Embroidery Basics with Towels

You just got a new embroidery machine! What in the world do you do with it? Sew Vac City has the class for you! Learn the basics by embroidering a towel. We will show you the proper stabilizer to use, how to hoop it and the best thread to use for lettering and designs. This class is a hands-on class. You will need to bring your embroidery machine with the proper foot attached, embroidery hoops, power cord, empty bobbin and a kitchen Towel. We will provide the thread and stabilizer for this project. Come have fun and leave with a custom designed Kitchen Towel!

Longarm Certification

BOM Challenge!

This is a fun way to make an inexpensive quilt. We have come up with 9 blocks to create and will do 1 a month. Register for BOM for $20, this includes the $5 for the first months block. The challenge is to finish that block and bring it back completed. If you meet the challenge then we will give you the next months block for free otherwise it is $5 for next months block.
