Join us for StitchWise: Piece by Piece, an exciting, hands-on machine stitching experience designed to build your skills, one stitch at a time!
Whether you’re exploring new techniques or refining your craft, this two day workshop will take you through a patchwork of creative possibilities—Including but not limited to piecing, paper piecing, decorative stitching, couching, embroidery, customize quilting in the hoop, zipper insertion, Vinyl installation, bias loops and beyond.
You’ll experiment with couching, free-motion quilting, stitching on vinyl, adding zippers, embroidery, and more! Along the way, you'll complete a stylish and functional zippered pouch - a perfect way to showcase your newfound skills.

| Instructor Bio: | Kathy Shalda has been a BERNINA owner and lover for over 40 years. Her first BERNINA was the original mechanical 830. Her grandmother taught her to sew at an early age and she has enjoyed the creativity sewing inspires ever since. Kathy has a degree in dental hygiene and practiced in the field for 25 years. After making an out-of-state-move Kathy retired from dental hygiene and began a new career at a local quilt shop. She spent 13 years working at the shop teaching quilt classes, selling on the floor and creating quilt patterns. About that time, the BERNINA store that serviced her machines was looking for help and Kathy went to work for them. She taught classes, worked the floor and helped plan and execute special events, eventually becoming the assistant store manager. Kathy moved to Texas in 2013. Later that year she was invited to join a new team that BERNINA was putting together. She has enjoyed being part of the BERNINA Event Team ever since and is starting the 11th year on the team. Kathy resides in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas with her husband Jim. Together they have 3 sons and 8 grandchildren.
